Professional Seasonal Planting Service in Johnston City, IL

Why Seasonal Planting Programs Outperform One-Time Plantings

A single planting installation in spring can produce beautiful results through early summer, but without a planned seasonal rotation program, those same beds will look tired and declining by late summer and bare through fall and winter. Kelly Landscaping's seasonal planting programs in Johnston City, IL are designed around the understanding that outdoor spaces provide the most value when they look intentional and maintained throughout the entire year rather than for just one or two peak periods. Our four-season programs transition beds and containers through coordinated plant combinations that are selected specifically for their performance during each season's temperature range and light conditions.

Spring and summer planting seasons in Johnston City, IL offer the broadest palette of annual and tender perennial options, including vibrant impatiens, petunias, calibrachoa, lantana, vinca, angelonia, and dozens of foliage plants that provide texture and contrast alongside flowering species. Our designers select combinations that balance color, texture, and growth habit to create visually cohesive displays rather than simple mass plantings of single species. Container programs follow the same design principles, creating thriller-filler-spiller combinations in mixed containers that provide drama and cascading interest from every viewing angle.

Fall and winter planting in Johnston City, IL requires a different plant palette and a different aesthetic sensibility. Autumn transitions to cool-season plants including ornamental kale, pansies, snapdragons, mums, decorative cabbages, and ornamental peppers that thrive in the cooler temperatures and lower light intensity of the season. Winter displays shift toward evergreen structural plants, dried grass plumes, berry-bearing stems, and decorative elements that provide visual interest even in the coldest months when flowering plant options are limited. Kelly Landscaping's seasonal planting team plans each season's transition in advance and executes changes efficiently to minimize the gap between plant removal and new installation.
